We are a growing international school on the edge of Ljubljana surrounded by forest and meadow and yet within easy reach of the centre of town. Our youngest children are 11 months old and our oldest group expands with each passing year. We are proud of our international education delivered in 2 languages, English and Slovene, with German taught from age 3.
In our friendly Nursery room we make sure we create an environment where our children are able to explore, question, investigate, create and imagine. Our children are encouraged to learn through play and exploration, when they are inside playing with our lovely resources, outside in our garden or in the meadows and woods surrounding our school.
Our Preschool follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme for children from 3 years old which allows us to create a learning environment that encourages our children to inquire, explore, question, investigate, create, imagine and most importantly have fun!
Our school children learn to speak, listen, read and write in Slovene and English. They are taught maths and all other subject areas equally in Slovene and English. We firmly believe in the benefits of a bilingual education, not only for communication but for the learning habits and abilities which it helps develop.
We implement the PYP from Preschool and older. We have developed a Programme of Inquiry that ensures a spread of areas of learning: for example some inquiries are more science based, some more art and others focus on the social sciences.
